Comfy and Sassy
NISSAN'S ALTIMA HYBRID
Nissan’s lone wolf, the comfy Altima Hybrid is only available in a handful of states so far (for about $24,400). If you decide to buy one in a nearby state, you can always enjoy a fun, fuel-efficient road trip home.

The Altima Hybrid has a strong 158-horsepower, 2.5 liter, four cylinder  internal combustion engine married to a purring (some might say whirring) electric motor that delivers an amazing 199 pound-feet of torque.

This sassy Altima gets better mileage in stop-and-go city driving (35) than it does on the highways (33). This is because the Altima Hybrid's electric engine turns off when stopped at lights and also stays engaged up to 40 miles per hour.

The Altima Hybrid delivers power when you need it and switches it off when you don't. Multiplying the 20-gallon tank with the MPG rating, this hybrid has a theoretical range of 700 miles between ever-more-painful stops for petroleum..
